{Spotlight Project} Nonni Has Fun with the Sleigh Stamp

Hi, guys! It's Nonni here creating with the Joyful set! I had a blast making this easy to mail one layer - and it's fast to make too! Let's have a look at the supplies you need to recreate this look:
  • STAMPlorations Joyful stamp set + an acrylic block
  • a card base
  • masking paper (I used giant Post-Its that I've purchased from an office supply store)
  • inks for sponging the background (I used 3 shades of blue Distress Inks + a bit of Pumice Stone DI for extra shading)
  • sponging tool/sponge
  • heat tool
  • watermark ink (Versamark used here)
  • embossing powder (I used Ranger Liquid Platinum)
  • embossing buddy for removing static before heat embossing
  • a snowflake punch/die
  • gems to decorate the snowflakes

Let's get started with the card, shall we! The first thing to do is to mask off the area in the middle of the card. I tore the edges of the post-it notes I used for masking: I wanted the edges to look a bit more artsy and a bit less sharp!

Time to get inky...

That looks messy...

...But let's reveal the result without the masks! In the next photo, I have the Joyful stamps placed where I wanted them.

If you have a large acrylic block, it's a good idea to grab all the stamps on one go with it - you only need to stamp once!

Stamp the image and sentiment with your choice of watermark ink, sprinkle embossing powder on them, and heat emboss with your heat tool. The result is shown below! You can also see how I was looking for the good placement and amount of punched snowflakes.

...And when we look at the final project again we can see I only used two of the snowflakes, embellished with gems! :)

I hope you'll have a go with sponging a background and embossing on it! Happy crafting!
