{Spotlight Project} Monika Makes Cakeful ATCs

Hello Crafty Friends! Today I'm going all out for cake using the Sweet Cravings stamp set and the matching Sweet Cravings CUTplorations Dies to make a set of ATCs.

ATC, as most of you will already know, is short for Artist Trading Card. They measure 2.5 X 3.5 inches and are swapped with other artists. A few months ago I joined a FB group where they have a monthly swap, and these cakeful beauties will be my entry for this month.

So how did I go about making them.

Cake always comes first hence I started off by stamping, watercolouring and die cutting cake and pies.

I blended my backgrounds on watercolour card and added splatters on two of them. The night sky background was blended using Pink, yellow, blue and dark grey inks (Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pacific Point, Basic Grey) to which white watercolour splatters were added.

Next I added some stamping to two of my backgrounds using Artsy Tribal Doodles and Daisy Row.

I added doilies and doodles, stamped and wrote out my sentiments, added a little shading with chalk on the doilies and layered everything up.

To finish, I added more doodles and glitter glue. Here are some close ups.

Pie In The Sky was inspired by a piece of news I heard earlier this year. Here in Britain someone had sent pie and chips into the atmosphere attached to one of those weather balloons.

What can I say, I always like to have my cake and eat it.

The Cutie Pie sentiment is just so sweet.

That's it from me for today. If you do make some ATCs/ATC sized card toppers or make a project using any of the techniques shared by my teamies in their Spotlight Posts, make sure to link up your makes with our Spotlight Project Showcase. Details on how to do this can be found in this post here.

Have a lovely day!
hugs
