{Stencil Sunday} More Gel Plate Printing Fun with MariLynn

Happy Sunday, STAMPlorations friends! We have another helping of Stencil Sunday goodness! On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month, the STAMPgirls are sharing their projects that show off how to creatively use ARTplorations stencils. And each month, we'll pick one winner of a $15 gift code -- the winner will be drawn from all comments left on the Stencil Sunday posts for the month, as well as from the designers' blogs.

STAMPgirl MariLynn is back with an ATC and card that she made using our stencils and gel plate.

Here's MariLynn with her projects:

I had a lot of fun playing with the stencils and my gel plate. My first project is an ATC. The stencil I used to make the mono print was Rag Rug. I used Butterfly Row along Mini Mixed Media Backgrounds (retired).  I stamped the butterflies with black Stazon. I painted the butterflies with white acrylic paint then water colored them. I masked them and stamped the music notes. I finished the card off by outlining with a black ink pen and adding highlights with a white gel pen and I then took a ruler and a black marker and made the edges dark.

For my second project, a card, I used Lupinus and Evolution. I used rust and teal with the Evolution stencil for the first layer. Then I layered pink, coral, light blue and green with the Lupinus stencil for second layer. I love the look that layered stencils give. That is one of the benefits of using a gel plate.

I decided to just add one little butterfly because I really wanted the floral background to be the focus. I used Layered Butterflies and Mini Mixed Media Backgrounds (retired). I stamped the butterfly using black Stazon ink. I then painted the butterfly. I reverse masked the butterfly and stamped the music notes. I finished it off with black ink pen and white gel pen. I added several layers of colored cardstock, in complimentary colors.
