Hello, STAMPlorations friends! STAMPlorations is participating in the "It's A Girl Thing" Turner Syndrome Awareness 2nd Annual Blog Hop that starts today and runs until February 7.
Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born with only one X chromosome, instead of two, leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,500 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!
For this awesome hop, 36 caring sponsors and 9 DT members have come together to bring Turner Syndrome Awareness to the public. For details on how you might win any of these fabulous prizes, please see Lori's TS home page.
For this hop, STAMPlorations is giving away a $25 gift code (gift voucher) to spend on the STAMPlorations store. And be sure you scroll down to the end of this post, as I have an extra prize. You only need to answer a very simple question to be included in the random draw.
I used colors from the TS official color board for my one layer card:
I have an extra prize of Sweetly stamp set to give away to one lucky commenter. Simply answer this question: What is one of the things you learned about Turner Syndrome? Comment by February 8. Winners will be announced in the January winners post on February 10.
Make sure you visit the "It's A Girl Thing" Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop 2020 page to find out how you can win one of the prizes.
Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to smile :o)
Their lack of estrogen is low and the major cause of bone density issues. It's terrible. It's bad enough at my age. Little ones and young women shouldn't have to deal with it. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteClever us of this stamp set.

What an amazing array of collage elements, representing the mosaic effect TS has on girls and women. It's a lovely creation! Thank you for participating in the TSA blog hop and helping your followers become knowledgeable about this condition.

Shery your collage card looks wonderful! I love the ink spots of the different colors from the mood board! I also love that "you matter" sentiment on your card! Thank you so much for being a Sponsor of the blog hop and a card designer again this year! I really appreciate your support! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, Shery! I'm determined to try your colouring technique as it has such an artsy look, love all the postmarks too. I just learned about Turner Syndrome today - I heard of it before but didn't know what it was. if I had to pick one thing I learned, it would be that the average age of diagnosis is 9+ and that some are not diagnosed until adults. And even more shocking is that only 2% of babies conceived with Turner Syndome survive to birth. Well I guess that's 2 things. Thanks for sponsoring this hop, for your giveaway, and for helping to educate us about this disorder.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful Shery! Thanks so much for helping spread the word about Turner Syndrome! GREAT JOB!
ReplyDeleteOne thing I learned new today was that the girls have low estrogen at very young age that leads to low bone density, which is very sad.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, thanks for spreading awareness and chance to win.
Thank you so much for participating in this hop to help spread the word for AWARENESS of Turner's Syndrome! GORGEOUS creation, I especially love how you used the color splashes to hi-light areas of the stamp!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your card is just gorgeous Shery!! I love the way you collage!! That is such a generous offer too! I noted on my blog the one thing I learned about TS is that these girls have low estrogen and bone density and need hormone replacement therapy starting at age 11/12. Thank you so much for sharing your creation! HUGS, *Vicki* - my blog: Stamped Smiles
ReplyDeleteYou do one layer grunge so perfectly - this is gorgeous!! I wasn't aware that less than 2% of babies conceived with TS survive to birth! That's awfully low. :-(
ReplyDeletegreat cause blog hop!
ReplyDeleteoh its so very beauiful card!
So wonderful of you to join in on this great cause. I did not realize so many diseases could develop from having this syndrome. Your card for this hop is wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for raising awareness about this awful disease - I was shocked to learn that 99% of babies with Turners do not survive to birth !!
ReplyDeleteSimply wonderful card! THank you for being a generous sponsor of this informative hop!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! What a fabulous hop! THanks for being a sponsor! I learned that less than 2% of babies conceived with TS survive to birth! UGH
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card--love the colors. I learned that the risk of cirrhosis of the liver is 6x great than the general population.
ReplyDeleteYour card is wonderful and I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this beautiful card and participating in the TS hop. I learned that many autoimmune conditions can be caused by Turner Syndrome
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Shery!! what I learnt is that there are so many and varied other physiological side effects to the TS affected women.
ReplyDeleteBlessings

I have seen lots of pretty Stamploration images and stencils along the way during the hop! I love these florals, and the look of them stamped along with the "grunge" is so appealing. Great combination for these miracle families living with TS. I have learned a lot about how TS manifests itself in the classroom, and as an elementary teacher, that means a lot!
ReplyDeleteThis is a pretty bouquet and the butterfly in the stamp set is so unique. I like how you added the pops of color to the flowers. I just learned about Turner Syndrome and was shocked to learn only 2% of girls live after birth. How very sad this disease is.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. Thanks for sharing. I learned about low estrogen, and also I didn't know that Linda Hunt of CSI had TS.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing blog hop and a great idea! I learned that TS is when a girl is born with only one X chromosome, which made me wonder what kind of effect that would have on a body. Then I learned that TS girls are miracles! That's pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteTake Care!

Gorgeous card! I love the layers of elements and visual texture. I was not aware of the many medical issues associated with Turner Syndrome. Thanks for your sponsorship and support for this little known cause!
ReplyDeleteI really like all the layered stamping on your beautiful card and thanks for helping spread the word on Turners Syndrome. I was surprised to find out that TS only affects girls, which makes sense when I read more about it.
ReplyDeleteLove your take on the mood board - very striking! That is a great stamp set!
ReplyDeleteI did learn that girls with Ts only have one X chromosome. What a beautiful stamp set:)
ReplyDeleteShery, this is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Shery and I love the sentiment you used! Also, I am so happy to be a part of this hop and use your gorgeous Flutter Zen butterfly for my card. So glad I got that die!
ReplyDeleteI learned that this condition occurs one in 2,500 female births. Great stamp set, fun way to color it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I love the floral design!
ReplyDeleteI learned that the girls have low estrogen at very young age and that can lead to a loss of bone density. Thanks for sharing information on TS along the hop.
Thank you for the beautiful stamp set that you designed for TS awareness campaign and blog hop. Stamplorations is a very socially conscious company that frequently offers prizes for fundraising campaigns for great causes like TS. That is one of the reasons that I proudly use your products whenever I can in my projects. One of the many things I learned is that the average age of diagnosis is nine years old, although many young women go undiagnosed until adulthood. Thank you for all the good your company does, and for the chance to win that wonderful stamp set. I hope you place it for sale for the non winners.
ReplyDeleteI like how you only colored a little bit of it. Really cool. I have learned so much about TS. I had never heard of it before. But I am going to suggest that my daughter have tests done because of her digestive problems. Doctors can't figure out why.....who knows.
ReplyDeleteI guess I should have been more clear: I learned that there is a high incidence of Irritable Bowl Syndrome with TS sufferers.
DeleteLearned they get
ReplyDeleteDiabetes at a higher
rate than two x chromosomes
get it.

Beautiful one-layer card; love the stamp set. I had never heard of Turner Syndrome before, so all the information was new to me. Thanks for spreading the awareness.
ReplyDeleteI was saddened to learn that such a small percentage of babies with TS survive. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely card with us, and for taking part in this wonderful blog hop to raise awareness for Turner Syndrome! Hugs...!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty!! Love the grunge look to it! I'm saddened to learn how TS can (and probably does) affect so facets of the woman's life--health, social skills, etc.

Love your free-spirited mixed media feel card!!! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL card!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the design of your inky layers and sweet sentiment!
I hopped along last year. There are so many aspects to this genetic disorder that it is almost overwhelming, so I appreciate the opportunity to learn more again this year. Things like how less than 2% of babies conceived survive to birth, precious girls that face the challenges each day with their families, TRUE MIRACLES.
THANK YOU for sharing and supporting the Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop :)
Wow! Impressive layering of the ink. Just the right touches of color giving depth. I thank you for sharing your creativity with us, your followers; and helping to spread the awareness of TS effects on female genetics. Birth fatalities, stunted growth, irritable bowel, lack of social skills the list goes on.... Knowledge is the key!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jan
Beautiful card and thank you so much for being a sponsor of the hop! I have learned so much as this was the first I'd heard of Turner Syndrome, but the thing that seems to really make me think is the fact that such a small number of babies with it live past birth.... so just living with it is a miracle..
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card and a really beautiful stamp set!! It' screaming to be made 3D. What did I learn about TS? Lots. But that it only happens to females and it happens to 1 in every 2,500!! Scary and I hope this blog hop helps bring awareness about TS.
ReplyDeleteReally fabulous, artsy card and lovely stamp set! I would be thrilled to win it! Thank you for your part in this important hop!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I hopped along last year, I had forgotten that 99% of conceptions with Turner Syndrome do not survive until birth. Turner Syndrome gals really are miracles!!
