Creative Tip of the Day: Personalized Birthday Cards with Die-Cut Negatives

Happy Monday! Today I’m featuring a clever birthday card by Vicki that shows a brilliant way to use the negative space from your dies. By using the leftover frame from a die-cut, you can create a unique, textured background that perfectly fits a specific celebration.

Project Details

The Negative Background: Vicki used the negative cut-out from the numbers plate die and adhered it directly over the white card base. This creates a "window" effect where the white shows through the number-shaped openings.

Shaker Balloons: She added two balloons using the balloon shaker dies, filling them with sequins and beads.

Custom Age Focal: To highlight the specific birthday, she used the numbers plate die again o cut out "64" from navy cardstock, mounting them on a clean white circle.

Don't forget, we have a gorgeous freebie of the month! A set of Blooms and Flutters card fronts will be tucked into orders of $25 or more. These are limited and haven't hit the shop yet, so it's a great time to get an exclusive first look!

  1. Fun shaker design. Great idea to use the negative as a base panel.
