May Mixed Media Challenge

Hello friends, we are back with our Mixed Media Monthly Challenge for you. Woohoo! We have changed things up this month though. For May, the theme is THINGS WITH WINGS- so create anything mixed media (except a card) and link up your winged-theme project! Just remember you must use a stencil in your creation.

{Mixed Media Tutorial} Stenciled Labels by Amy

Good afternoon everyone, Amy here, with a quick and fun way of creating labels for your Art Journals, Tags, Cards, Mail Art etc!

May Challenge - Theme and Sketch

Well hello again! The girls in the Theme and Sketch challenge are back and boy, oh boy...they have some fabulous inspiration for you! This month, all of our 5 challenges (CAS Cards, Mixed Media, CUTplorations, TAGplorations, and Theme and Sketch) have one theme: Things with Wings. (Check out the post about it here for a chance to win your choice of cover plate die.)

For the Theme and Sketch challenge, we'd love to see winged-themed projects -- no sketch this time! Create any type of project (cards, ATCs, layouts, or whatever you want) as long as it's got something with wings in it :o)

While the girls in the Theme and Sketch team have used our products in the projects they created for this challenge, players (you!) don't have to use STAMPlorations products. Use whatever you have in your stash...although we are always tickled pink when we see our products in projects entered in our challenges!

{Spotlight Project} A Starry Night with Deepti!

Hello friends! Deepti here and welcome to a spotlight feature. Today I am playing with the newest stampclub set, Sparkly. For this one I decided to create a starry night using the gem stones in this set as my stars. Let me show you what I made.

May CAS Card Challenge

Happy Thursday! The CAS Card Challenge is back this month and if you're a regular follower of our blog, then you know that our regular challenges are back...sort of! For all of May, all of our 5 challenges (Theme & Sketch, Mixed Media, CUTplorations, TAGplorations, and CAS Cards) have one theme: Things with Wings. (Check out the post about it here for a chance to win your choice of cover plate die.)

For the CAS Card challenge, we'd love to see winged-themed clean and simple cards.

While the girls in the CAS team have used our products in the CAS cards they created for this challenge, players (you!) don't have to use STAMPlorations products. Use whatever you have in your stash...although we are always tickled pink when we see our products in projects entered in our challenges!

{Spotlight Project} Shirley Introduces Layered Butterflies - Part 3 + Comment to Win!

Hi peeps! Over the last two weeks (here and here), I've been sharing what you can do with the stamps from my new set, Layered Butterflies. Today I'm mixing it up a bit to get more mileage out of the set.

You can ink up just the body and antennae of the large butterfly set in black, then stamp the solid wings. I diecut the panel using the Crazy Double Running Stitch Nesting Dies and sponged coordinating Distress Oxides on my card base.

You can do the same with the solid wing highlights. But wait a minute, those top wings look like small butterflies. Time for a bit of surgery (gasp!!)

I cut the stamp between the upper and lower wings, then inked the upper wings in Distress Oxides. I used coordinating Sharpies to draw in bodies and antennae.

You can just stamp the outline image, then ignore the boundaries to make your own butterfly shape.

Or find that background panel lurking in your stash that's a bit too dark for anything else, stamp the large butterfly image then get to work with black and white pens to create your own masterpiece. Your only limit is your imagination.

Fancy winning this set? Just leave a comment on this post. We'll pick a winner and announce it on May 10 in the April winners post. If you can't wait, the Layered Butterflies set is already in the store, and if you use my code STAMPGIRLSHIRLEY you'll get 20% off. Happy stamping!

{Spotlight Project} Becca Shines Bright (Like a Diamond)

Howdy friendly friends! Today, I'm going to add a little sparkle to your day and show off how to use Perfect Pearls to add shimmer to your projects.

May TAGplorations Challenge - Things With Wings

A happy May to you all! This month, we're back to our regular challenges -- sorta! For all of May, all of our 5 challenges (Theme & Sketch, CAS Cards, Mixed Media, CUTplorations, and TAGplorations) have one theme: Things with Wings. (Check out the post about it here for a chance to win your choice of cover plate die.)

For the TAGplorations challenge, we'd love to see winged-themed projects that have a tag (or tags) in them. Create any type of project (cards, ATCs, layouts, or whatever you want) as long as there's a tag (or tags) in it...no matter how big or small :o)

While the girls in the TAGplorations team will be featuring our CUTplorations tag dies in the projects they create for this challenge, players (you!) don't have to use STAMPlorations products. Use whatever you have in your stash...although we are always tickled pink when we see our products in projects entered in our challenges!
