{Special Stamp Release!} BOLD SENTIMENTS by Shery Russ Designs -- Comment to Win!

Hello, STAMPlorations friends! We recently released 6 new stamps under the Bold Sentiments line. As a writer and editor, I love words and love playing with them. (In fact, 12 years ago, I created a program featuring over 20 different word prompt generators to help writers jump start their writing. The free version of this program has been downloaded by 16,000+ writers and its premium version is being used by many.) As a graphic designer, I love typography. So what's a girl to do? Come up with word stamps that can be mixed and matched to create meaningful sentiments!

First up are these 3 decorative mixed media coasters. I applied a coat of gesso on heavy chipboard squares, applied Distress paints, and did collage-style stamping. I stamped the words on tissue paper and decoupaged. I sealed the coasters with matte gel medium.

The next 3 projects are all one layer cards.

Card #1

I applied a thin layer of gesso over the card base before stamping the sketchy butterfly and loosely coloring it with Sakura Koi watercolors and Inktense pencils -- I let the colors drip down the panel.

Card #2

I laid a stencil over the card base and loosely watercolored inside the triangles. Once dry, I traced the triangles with a calligraphy pen and then ran a wet brush over to let the ink bleed. I stamped around the edges to create faux texture as well.

Card #3

I went monochromatic on this one layer card: I stamped the narcissus twice with antique linen Distress marker and then traced over the impression with a calligraphy pen. To create the inky, artsy look, I ran my waterbrush over the ink.
