Hi, friends! Nice to be back. You may have heard I've been in the US for awhile, away from my supplies. And unfortunately, needing a few sympathy cards at the same time. So I'm sharing with you how you can make a couple cards with a single stamp.
STEP 1
I chose my image - the zinnia from Floral Bliss. I used Memento black ink since I would be using Copics.
STEP 2
Since I wanted the flower blue for this sympathy card (for my BFF's mom whose bedroom was blue), I chose two hydrangea blue colors.
STEP 3
Using the rule of threes (stamping images in triangle arrangements basically), I stamped a random BG using the same bloom and black ink.
STEP 4
I selectively inked a sentiment stamp - OK, so I used two stamps - to get the word "Forever", which I completed with handwritten "in our hearts" on the inside. Placed cellophane tape over the words I didn't want, inked, carefully removed inky tape and stamped onto a scrap of white CS.
STEP 5
I forgot to photograph the final card since we were off to the funeral home the next morning. You're going to have to use your imagination here! If you look at the randomly stamped BG photo, in the lower right sweet spot I adhered a small strip of B/W washi and placed the "Forever" above it, hugged by the fussy cut blue zinnia popped up on its right.
And because I feel like a total imbecile for forgetting to photograph the card, here's the second sympathy card made in the same manner, which was for my aunt the gardener. On this one I chose to cluster stamp the helenium, using some masking. I selectively inked the "Forever" on a snippet and adhered it in the center of the cluster before adhering the fussy cut colored one overlapping it.
The stamp set I used: Floral Bliss. What a beauty!
Hope you enjoyed today's card(s). Perhaps it will inspire you to keep things simple when making a card.
TschĂĽss,
Maria
