STEP 1
I gathered some pink, red and green Distress Inks and sponge daubers. I taped down my Oh My Stars stencil and sponged the colors onto cardstock.
STEP 2
I used my heat tool to dry the ink. Then I put the stencil down again and applied clear embossing paste over it. TIP: I applied the paste "row by row" to avoid smearing any ink colors, since the ink reactivates a bit when wet.
STEP 3
I removed the stencil carefully and sprinkled clear glitter over the wet embossing paste. Tapped off the excess.
STEP 4
The toughest step... let the panel dry.
STEP 5
While it was drying, I die cut a vellum star and silver heat embossed my sentiment from Holiday Sketches: Christmas Bells. TIP: I use a piece of cardboard wrapped in aluminum foil for heat embossing. I aim the heat gun at it while it's warming up and that heat warms the piece I am embossing from the reverse while I heat the front. Helps prevent the powder from blowing away when the hot air hits it.
STEP 6
Assemble the card. I considered using the entire panel as a card front, but then decided to cut it diagonally and make two cards. Here they are.
For the second card I used a light gray cardbase and a black heat embossed sentiment. I added a smaller die cut star (cut from white CS) behind the vellum heart. Hope you enjoyed today's twofer. Are you making your own Christmas cards this year?

Cool technique -- and I think cutting the piece diagonally and only use part of it was a brilliant decision.
