I always knew someday I'd go postal.
I really can't believe it's taken this long.
Today I'm going to show you how I altered a notebook to create a one-of-a-kind address book that will FINALLY allow me to keep track of all of my bloggy friends' addresses.
This is a project I've planned for quite some time, but never quite gotten around to implementing - much to the chagrin of all of the bloggy contacts I've made who I've had to repeatedly ask for addresses every time I wanted to mail out some happiness.
Luckily, the newest stamp club stamp set Gone Postal inspired me to finally complete this project.
I picked up this mini notebook at some boring-schmoring work conference I went to with the sole intention of covering up the branding and forgetting all about the vendor I talked to.
Is that mean? Maybe. But a crafter has needs.
I cut a piece of cardstock to fit the exact size of the cover and then used a piece of paper to mask off an area that I wanted to leave white. As you can see, I very fancily taped the whole thing down with some washi to keep it positioned right where I wanted it.
I used the stamp from Gone Postal and created a mask, layer the images to create a base.
Next, I stamped images from the same set, again masking as I went along.
After I had all of the things exactly where I wanted, I used a black marker to create some lines and then removed all of my masks. OOooooooo...
I colored in some of the white areas using a cobalt blue Spectrum Noir marker and then I stamped WRITE using the Sketchy Alphabet set.
Voila! A completed address book all ready for some organizational wonderment.
HEY! Do you want to alter something? Show me what you've got and play along in our Spotlight Projects Showcase. If you link up a project inspired by one of our Spotlight Projects you have the chance to win some awesome prizes! And everyone loves prizes.
Happy weekend!
