You know how much I love sloshing Distress Inks around, don't you? I love getting colour outside the lines in a very loose and fluid way, but I also like to do it in a more controlled manner to make it look like faux printing.
I wanted this to be a very clean and graphic style of card, ultra-CAS and one-layer. I started off by stamping the cocktail from the Gone Postal set, and colouring it in with Distress Markers, keeping the colours slightly below and to the left of the stamped image to make it look like a lithographic print that was not aligned properly and slightly out of register.
I decided to go for a couple more images, one either side of the central image. I kept to a limited colour palette for maximum effect.
Here are a couple of close-ups of the other images. The off-registration can also imply highlights, as on the lemon. An extra touch of the same yellow adds shadow and depth.
So now I've got three images across the centre of my card, but they need a sentiment to group them. I stamped the sentiment (Party Time) first in Twisted Citron, then overstamped it in black.
And here's the finished product. I added Glossy Accents to the cut lime, the umbrella and the cherries.
