Good afternoon everyone, Amy here, with the end of school approaching, I thought I’d share a little Gift Card Pocket Tag for y'all using some of the NEW ARTplorations Stencils: Atoms, Doily Squares and Emanations.
Thought these would make great lil’ gifts for teacher’s to thank them for all they do. :o)
Start with a 3"x6" tag and one piece approximately 3"x3" cut from Watercolor paper (coldpress 140lb used here). Apply paint (Distress Paints used here) in 3 colors from the same color family and blend with fingers.
ON TAG PIECE: Apply Distress Stain thru the Atoms Stencil and let dry. Then apply Distress Ink thru the Emanations stencil with a blending tool.
ON SMALLER PIECE: Apply Distress Ink thru the, Doily Squares stencil with a blending tool. Now you have layered textures and colors on your backgrounds. :o)
Splatter pieces with a contrasting color (White Linen Dylusions Spray used here by unscrewing the top and splattering the papers- I find this easier than using the spray nozzle for splatters). Tear your smaller piece with how you want your pocket designed and ink the edges. I went diagonally so Gift Card would be seen and easy to slip in and out.
Next, stamp a border using the stitched Border Stamp from the ArtsyBorder Maker set with Archival Ink. Then apply 1/2 inch Scor-tape along the edges of 3 sides to create your “pocket”.
On another piece of watercolor paper, spray with desired spray and mist with water if needed to blend. (Lindy’s Stamp Gang Tawny Turquoise Moonshadow Mist used here). Once dry, stamp the Coffee image from the FramedCoffee For One Stamp set. Color with desired medium (I wanted a watercolor effect so used Distress Ink and Oxide Ink with a Waterbrush). Once dry, fussy cut out the cup only.
Die cut the CUTplorations “Thankful” word and ink the edges. Stamp the “For You” sentiment from the “Be Thankful” Stamp set and dress up your tag. I used a paper strip and Doily with inked edges to use as the base for my coffee cup and used 3D Foam tape to add dimension to my coffee cup. Then embellish as you wish and add your Gift Card into your pocket. A coffee ribbon and gem heart finished off my Tag Gift Card Holder. :o)
I sure hope I’ve inspired you to get out your stencils and stamps and create a lil’ gift card holder as well. See you next time.
