The challenges will soon start again, but to make the wait a little easier, it's my turn to share a little start-to-finish tutorial with you all today. I've prepared a fun home decor piece for you today:
This is a wood block my dear husband cut for me - it resembles the form of a home. I wanted to focus on motivational/inspirational sentiments as my centerpiece on this piece and built the layers around the stamp sentiments. This piece is meant to decorate our home and in a way, to remind me to push myself forward and even when life really seems to pull me down, still never give up.
1. Cover the wooden piece with gesso. Let dry. Then cover with white paint.
2. Adhere tissue paper onto the painted piece with varnish/gel medium. Again let dry. Due to the drying times it takes a bit longer to finish this project.
3. Take STAMPlorations stencils of your choice and apply iridescent medium thru them onto the block. Let dry.
4. Apply spray ink onto the surface. Let dry.
5. Adhere die cut pieces/silhouette cuts onto the surface for decor with varnish. Let dry.
6. Stamp the images onto a piece of nice patterned paper with black ink.
7. Decorate with lace, wood veneer and/or other embellishments of your choice. You can even color the wood veneer with the spray inks (this way everything matches) and add glitter glue for additional shine.
8. If you want to, add liquid pearl dots here and there for more interest.
9. Adhere the stamped sentiments (STAMPlorations stamps) with 3D foam onto their places.
And here is the same in video form - hope you get inspired!!!
Happy stamping and stenciling!!!
xxx, Sanna
