Hi there, everyone! How ready are you for spring? I know I am more than ready (while I am writing this, snow keeps falling outside my window) and cannot wait for tulips, sunshine and nicer weather! For that reason, I made some happy colored cards with stencils and Nuvo Mousse.
First take a piece of watercolor paper or thicker drawing paper a Nuvo Mousse Citrus Green tone, a blender brush and a stencil of your choice. I used the Flowers 2 stencil on these cards.
Now grab some mousse (a fairly small amount is enough) from the jar with the brush and with a circular motion, apply it onto the paper.
Next take a second tone of Nuvo Mousse of your choice (I used Pacific Teal) and place the stencil on top of the green toned surface (dries really quicly, by the way). Again apply the mousse onto the paper thru the stencil using the brush. If you want to more dimensional look, apply with a palette knife.
For a second version of the same technique, pick three matching colors of Nuvo Mousse (I used Pink Flambé, Persian Red and Burnished Bronze) and apply them from a lighter tone towards a darker tone to create an ombré look onto the background. Again apply in circular motion with the brush.
After the surface is done, place the Flowers 2 stencil on top and apply white texture paste thru the stencil with a palette knife onto the surface. Let dry.
Next apply some green and blue mousse, blending them together randomly, onto the cardstock piece and stamp flowers (I used the Buttercups & Butterflies stamp set) with a waterproof ink onto that area. Then fussy cut the flowers. Repeat the same stemps and create pink flowers with the pink mousse and the same stamp.
The Nuvo Mousse has a wax like, metallic look and feel to it when it´s dry, so it creates really beautiful shimmery backgrounds to these cards and can be used with stencils in so many ways.
happy stenciling!
Sanna
