Hi, stamping friends! Jerrie here today. Have you heard the saying, "Leave a little sparkle wherever you go"? Today using the stamp club set, Trendy Spring Blooms, and the CUTplorations Thanks die, we are making cards that will leave sparkle wherever they are sent!
The goal was to make eight cards to fill a gift box. These gift boxes are great for a quick gift (We will complete this gift box in my spotlight post on May 23.)
To make the eight cards, I started with an 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of white cardstock. Using Trendy Spring Blossoms, each stamp was designated a color. I stamped the silhouette of the flowers in Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Lavender. To fill in the empty spaces, I used Mowed Lawn and the leaf stamp. (Note: If the stamping overlaps at all, it will blend in.)
Next, I stamped the flower detail stamp on the coordinating silhouette in Dusty Concord, Fired Brick. and Faded Jeans.
Wow! The blank canvas is filled in and looks great!
Using the Thanks die, I cut the word out of the center of the piece. The die-cut "thanks" are a bonus -- they'll make the other four cards.
I applied packing tape to the back of the piece with the sticky side facing forward, making sure it is stuck well to the piece.
I turned it over and applied the glitter over the sticky packing tape. I burnished the glitter into the packing tape and removed the excess glitter.
I glued the glittered piece onto a pink cardstock base.
Next, I got those 4 thanks die cuts used. I had scrap stamped paper from the box I made for my May 23 Spotlight project...I stamped the flower detail on pink cardstock and applied the scrap strip on the bottom of the card. (This was taken from the box scraps you will see on May 23.) I white heat embossed the words from the Trendy Spring Blossom set on a strip of black paper and adhered them over the stamped images.
Using pop dots on the back of the thanks die cut, I adhereed it to the card.
Just like that, I completed 8 cards! It is a great way to make cards quickly and spread SPARKLE! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you try this technique. If you do, hook up your project at our Spotlight Project Showcase.
