{Spotlight Project} Shirley Plays With Bloom Doodles

Hello peeps! I've been playing with the fabulous new STAMP club set, Bloom Doodles, together with some smooshed card, to create a card using an analogous colour scheme (three to five colours adjacent on the colour wheel).

I started off by gathering a few smooshed card panels, and challenged myself to use the one I liked the least, and therefore thought would be the hardest to work with, which was the pink and blue one.

I chose my flower then stamped and masked till I had three flowers.

Added a few leaves...

...and started to colour. I chose the Tombow pens that were nearest to the colours on the card panel so that they would easily blend with the existing colours on the card. The idea is to enhance the colour scheme rather than fight it.

I used a fine-tipped white Posca paint pen to add white dots to some of the petals, and a light grey around the outsides of all the flowers and leaves for shadow.

I decided I didn't like the image grouping as it was - those leaves look like horns - so I flipped the card and added a sentiment - much better!
