Hello STAMPlorations Friends! It's Monika here today taking you through my process of making a one-layer monochromatic card. The large floral stamp from the new Bloomful set was perfect for what I had in mind. Here is my finished card:
This card is easily made using a stamping tool, apologies about the messy background. I am a bit of a messy crafter at times.
Anyway, back to the card, I decided to turn my card upside down and aligned my stamp at the upper edge. The white strip you can see at the top will be trimmed off later.
I then stamped my image in Bermuda Bay ink.
At this point it doesn't matter, if part of the image is a little faint. What is important is to have your card tightly butted into the corner of your stamping tool before stamping as this will be helpful in a later step.
Next I lightly watercoloured the flowers pulling most of the ink from the stamped outlines. adding a bit more ink to darken some of the flowers. Some splatters finished off my watercolouring.
Once it all had dried, I made sure to butt my card firmly into the corner before stamping my image again.
The watercolouring makes some of the outlines appear a bit fuzzy, butting up into the same position as before helps your image to align properly when over stamping. The additional stamping adds more definition.
All that was needed was a little sentiment to finish my card off.
That's it from me for today. If you feel like making a one-layer monochromatic card or a project using any of the techniques or ideas shared by my teamies in their Spotlight Posts, make sure to link up your makes with our spotlight project gallery here.
Have a lovely day!
