I started by applying modelling paste through the stencil, and once that was dry I finger-painted and brushed some Distress paints over the cover. I actually started with Distress Oxides but found them too wet and creamy, so I rubbed them in then set to with the paints. (I forgot to take photos of the very first steps.)
I stencilled Stormy Sky Distress Oxide over her blue top - it looked a bit too intense but you have to hold your nerve with Oxides because they dry more faded than they first appear.
The make up was Distress Ink applied with cotton buds/Q-tips. At the very end, when I was sure everything was dry, I added highlights with a white Posca paint pen.
I coloured the back panel to match the front panel and added stamped grunge images, stamping blue over the orange and orange over the blue, to link the two colours. I also added a streak of Picked Raspberry on the reverse to match the front.
I used similar colours on the insides.
Here's a close-up of some of the stamping and stencilling.
You might have noticed some printed numbers on the first pictures of the front cover. These were on the mount board and the paint didn't cover them very well, that's why I stamped the black grunge images on the edges. You can just make out the numbers on this picture below. I also used sandpaper to sand back some of the paint from her hair, hat and shoulders.
I added corresponding black stamping on the back cover.
Here's a view of the front and back assembled.
