Hello friends! Deepti here and welcome to a spotlight feature. Today, I am playing with the newest stamp club set Bloomful and for this one I decided to color, I mean that big semi circle is pretty tempting :) I have done very basic coloring and I picked up two different neutrals for my card panel. Let me show you...
Step 1 - So for this one I took a white panel and a grey card stock panel and stamped the image at the lower edge on each panel.
Step 2 - Coloring tips. We are often intimidated by a big image when it comes to coloring it. There is always a question what color should I choose and how should I color it. So here's what works for me -
- Decide a key color, which is the focal or predominant color in your image. I decided to pick blue for big flower in this image
- Then what I do is to find repeat patterns in the design and decide to have same colors for those.
- I try to stick to odd number of colors like 3, 5 and in this case it was 5
- Colors I pick are analogous (basically colors that are next to each other in the color wheel) they work the best... Blue green, Blue, Violet, Re-violet, red
- Start by coloring the key color and then work on repeat patterns
- Try to color in a way that no two adjacent patterns have same colors (I predetermine this by eye balling the image)
Step 3 - I stamped the sentiment and adhered these panels on card base. I also used a white gel pen to cover and coloring that went over the stamped line.
I picked two different card stock panels to see how the same colors would look, I like the warmer look of colors on grey panel. Oh! and the coloring involves simple solid coloring.
Here is a look one more time...
That was a great tip - your coloring is fabulous - I am not very good at coloring - I will make note of what you shared and hop back here when I start to color an image - digital or stamped - lovely work Deepti on both cards! TFS
