I had stamped the images from Deepti's Wooded set using direct to stamp with Distress Inks onto a panel that I was going to mount onto my card, but I didn't like where it was positioned on the panel. I wouldn't be able to fit a sentiment on the panel, nor on the base card. So I fussy cut it.
Once I'd cut it out, I laid it on the base card to see where I wanted my sentiment.
That allowed some room for a simple sentiment from Bloom Happy beneath the florals. I curled some of the edges of the flowers and leaves to add a bit of interest. Ultra CAS.
So that was my first rescue of the week. Now, remember this card?
Well, my mum had asked for an 18th birthday card, so I rescued a too-colourful background panel and cut out a set of numbers, and added some diecut letters to spell the recipient's name (sorry, no photo of that stage). So far, so good. The fail? A total brain-fart on my part - I'd already made her a card a few weeks earlier. Sometimes it doesn't do to work too far ahead of yourself :)
So I cut a scalloped circle containing the numbers (at this point I hadn't realised it could be part of my Spotlight post, and I didn't use a STAMPlorations product, but ssshhhh), I cut out the words and fussy-cut the cocktail. Then I re-assembled the elements on some funky background paper. Good save?
The numbers don't show up too well on that photo, so here's a close-up.
I hope you enjoyed these saves!
