Happy Sunday, STAMPlorations friends! We are back with another helping of Stencil Sunday goodness! On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month, the STAMPgirls are sharing their projects that show off how to creatively use ARTplorations stencils. And each month, we'll pick one winner of a $15 gift code -- the winner will be drawn from all comments left on the Stencil Sunday posts for the month, as well as from the designers' blogs.
Kicking off this month's Stencil Sunday feature is STAMPgirl Sue with two cards with beautifully ink-blended backgrounds.
Here's Sue with her projects:
For this rainbow-inspired card, I added color with distress inks (barn door, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, mowed lawn, salty ocean) applied with an ink blending tool and the Prim Triangles stencil. I intentionally tried to overlap the colors a bit to add more colors. The stencil easily dictated where to change colors. For the sentiment, I used one of the stickers in the New Day clear stickers pack, which I cut into two pieces so it fit on my white circle die cut. To complete the card, I die cut a yellow scalloped circle to mat the white circle and added a 0.75" red horizontal strip.
*****
I created the background by applying tumbled glass and salty ocean distress inks randomly with an ink blending tool on a piece of A2 cardstock. I placed the Some Birds stencil and stenciled the birds with hickory smoke distress ink and an ink blending tool. The sentiment makes use of one of the stickers in the New Day clear stickers pack. I trimmed the A2 panel a bit horizontally and added blue cardstock to frame the panel on the top and bottom.

Aren't Sue's cards beautiful? For a chance to win a $15 gift code to the STAMPlorations store, leave a comment here and on Sue's blog by August 5. We'll announce the winner in the July winners post on August 10.
