STEP 1
Gather supplies - Neenah cardstock, Distress inks, Hearts All Over stencil, Helenium stamp, alcohol markers and black ink that works with alcohol markers.

STEP 2
Stamp the flower, letting it go off the bottom edge.
STEP 3
While you're at it, stamp a second image on scrap paper and fussy cut it to use as a mask.
STEP 4
STEP 4
I found an inspiring Helenium image in the internet and chose my colors.

STEP 5
Here are some shots of my coloring-without-trying too-hard coloring process.
STEP 6
STEP 6
Place the mask on the colored panel. I secure my panel with tape and then secure the stencil with more tape. Apply Mustard Seed ink, heavier at the bottom and lighter towards the top. Then add some Fossilized Amber at the bottom too. I am careful to not fill the entire panel with hearts, just an interesting area around the flower. See how the tape along the left acts as a hinge so I can lift the stencil up to check my progress.

STEP 7
I finished up the card by adhering it to a yellow cardbase and adding a heat embossed sentiment on a snippet. Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial. This is such a great technique for adding interest without bulk!
