Hi all! I’m happy to be here with my first Digital Wednesday post! My name is Farhana and you can find me over on Instagram sharing my crafty creations! One of my favorite things about digital stamps is being able to resize them to fit your project! Today I’ll share a slimline and a faux shaker card using the same digital stamp images but resized to sit the card front.
For both cards I used images from the Thankful for Autumn digital stamp set. I printed the images in two in two different sizes, the larger one for a slimline card (8.5 x 3.5 inches) and a smaller set for an A2 card front. I printed the images onto heavy weight craft cardstock, this is one of my favorite ways to mute colors for fall themed cards. I colored the images using alcohol markers and fussy cut them (or cut them out with a ScanNCut if you have one).
For my first card I inked blended over the Neat Tiles slimline stencil using a brown-beige pigment ink for a tone on tone look, I diecut the cardstock using a stitched die, then layered the colored images to look like a stall at the pumpkin patch! Lastly I added a sentiment using the Thinking of You Phase Die cut from some glitter cardstock and some matching sequins.
For the second card, I used the smaller images to create a faux shaker card. Using some foam tape, I adhered a grid die cut to an A2 kraft card base. I added the colored images with foam tape for some added dimension, along with some sequins for the faux shaker look. For the sentiment, I heat embossed phases from the Bloomfully: Thankful stamp set in gold. Here's where I made a mistake! It didn't pop the way I would have wanted it to, so I added some ink blending over a stencil to highlight the area. I really liked my faux shaker and didn't want to trash the whole card! You can always heat emboss on black or white card stock, cut strips and adhere those.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are inspired to create your own cards this holiday season, and send them! It's a perfect way to celebrate and spread some joy from a distance!
Stay crafty,
Farhana
