Hello Peeps! Today I'm playing cards with a friend. I'm sure many of you know Michele Ferguson of I Card Everyone. Some time ago she turned my Layered Poinsettias set into spring flowers using the split four technique here, and I loved the result so much that I CASEd her here and again here.
Well, I thought the technique would work with other stamps so I invited her to a playdate. We chose my set Carved Flowers, and to change things up a bit, instead of the split four technique, we would split the panel vertically to make slimline cards. So here's what I made:
Well, I thought the technique would work with other stamps so I invited her to a playdate. We chose my set Carved Flowers, and to change things up a bit, instead of the split four technique, we would split the panel vertically to make slimline cards. So here's what I made:
I made two vertical score lines in a sheet of European A4 (roughly 8 1/4 x 11 3/4 inches) to give me three equal DL sized panels (almost 4 inches x 8 1/4 inches). Using stamps from the Carved Flowers set I placed my images so that some of them were across the folds and some on the edges of the panels.
Then I sliced the sheet into three to use for my cards.
For my first card I rotated the left-hand panel and added a Congrats diecut then mounted the panel to a DL card.
For the second card I trimmed the middle portion down slightly so that a sliver of the dusky pink card base would show through, and added a Happy Anniversary die cut.
And for the final card I stamped Happy Birthday using the Happy Birthday stamp set then mounted it onto a white DL sized card.
Pop on over to Michele's blog to see what she created with the same set. We enjoyed it so much, we're doing it again next month with another set, so stay tuned, and see if you can guess which set we'll be using then!
