Hi, STAMPlorations friends! So I haven't done too many spotlight projects lately because my little girl (who'll be 4 months on December 29!) has been keeping me pretty busy :o) Last night, however, while she was asleep, I was able to sneak in a few minutes of crafting.
For months I have been wanting to play with supplies I bought before I gave birth. For this spotlight project, I finally got to play with my set of Cretacolor Aqua Stic watersoluble oil pastels. There are so many techniques I've been wanting to try with these babies but knowing I only had a short time to get this project done, I went with the simplest: using the Aqua Stics for stamping and watercoloring. Here's my card:
I rubbed the Aqua Stic onto the Large Narcissus stamp.
With a waterbrush, I wet the area where I am going to stamp.
Aqua Stics are highly pigmented so even just a little water will produce a vivid imprint. I pulled some of the yellow with the waterbrush after stamping.
I inked up the narcissus again and stamped over.
I then watercolored the narcissus, as well as the background.
You know what's coming next...my favorite way to create dimension and texture in my one layer cards :o) I masked the narcissus and then stamped the postmark, script, numbers, and grunge border stamps from Mixed Media Elements.
I finished the card by stamping the sentiment from Noteworthy.
Hope you enjoyed my simple project. See you next year! We have some exciting changes coming to the Spotlight Project posts :o)
Until then, I wish you a very merry Christmas!
Hugs,
