Hey, STAMPlorations friends! We have a special post today -- courtesy of STAMPgirl Karola, who created a 5 fabulous cards to help get you in the holiday/Christmas cardmaking mood. Plus we've got a Christmas in July sale starting today until July 31 and a giveaway found at the end of this post.
Hi all, it's Karola here to inspire you to create Christmas cards. Christmas in July is one of those iconic crafting events which we really wanted to celebrate with you. If you haven't started your Christmas crafting yet, now is the perfect time to do so and you will find the card making community is full of Christmas inspiration at this time of the year. Now is also a great time to pick up gorgeous STAMPlorations Christmas products if you feel like adding something new for this year's Christmas crafting.
For my first card, I stamped Sketchy Yule Trees onto white card, coloured them with Distress Markers and topped the card with a vellum panel with Merry Little Christmas heat embossed in gold. (this stamp is currently out of stock, but there are plenty of other Christmas typografia stamps in stock in the STAMPlorations store).
I continued to use the same layout, but this time I used the cute snowman from Winter Chill for the background (adding orange for his carrot nose) and heat embossed the Build A Snowman sentiment in holographic embossing powder giving it a gorgeous shimmery look.
For my third vellum topped card I heat embossed Jingle Bells with a mix of gold and copper embossing powder. I coloured the Jingle All the Way stamp using Distress markers, stamped it onto vellum, heat embossed it in clear powder and used the smallest Crazy Double Running Stitch Nested dies to cut the vellum panel before attaching it on top of the bells.
For my last two cards, I used the gorgeous graphic Yuletide Deer stamp set. I used a limited color palette, sticking to bright red, black and grey. I used markers to colour the word "Christmas" from the Merry Little Christmas sentiment and used the "merry" stamp from Joyful. I also added extra interest around the edge using a stamp from Mixed Media Elements and by splattering diluted black ink onto the card panels.
I hope you enjoyed my quick and easy Christmas cards and are inspired to get started with your own Christmas stash. Even one or two cards will make a difference, but with simple designs like the ones I have used here, it's relatively easy to set up a production line and do a batch while you have your crafty stash out. If you want more details about how I created my cards, or want more links to cards I have made with these stamp sets, head over to my blog.
