I wanted to go back to basics and explore using my chalks to create a delicate look for my card or at least that was the plan. Somehow I couldn't get the look I wanted, and that's when I tried my luck using old eye shadow instead. As you can see, it worked perfectly! I ended up with the subtle colouring I was after and some great shimmer too.
I cut three pieces of white card to size (3.5 x 7.5 cm) and stamped the swirly image from the Mixed Media Grunge set in watermark pigment ink before using the applicator to pick up some of the eye shadow and lightly applying it over my stamped image to create my panels. I sprayed them with a little hairspray to fix and layered them onto a piece of light turquoise card (11.5 x 8 cm) and attached it to my base card.
For my next card, I coloured three panels using my shimmery chalks, stamped my image in black VersaColor, fixed with hairspray, layered on bright pink card and then on my black base card before finishing off with a bright pink sentiment, again from the Tree Silhouettes set.
I initially thought that I might heat emboss the grungy swirl from the Mixed Media Grunge set but decided against it once I had stamped the image. I felt it would have looked a little too heavy and drowned out the golden shimmer from the chalks which was still quite noticeable through the VersaColor stamping.
As always there is a little craft along video enabling you to follow my creative process.
We'll be back again tomorrow with one of our Inspiration Project posts. Until then, have a lovely day!
