Seeing as today is the special release of the large Groovy Shoes sets (don't forget to leave a comment
here for a chance to win the set of your choice), I thought I'd show you a couple more shoe cards. Ready for the first one? Got your sunglasses on?
How about this one?
A couple of weeks ago I had a stencilling session with my
ARTplorations stencils. I used clear texture paste on mixed media paper to create several panels for my stash which were then ready for colour to be added to them. In this case I sponged Distress Inks onto the panels then polished them with a paper towel, which helps to blend the colour but also removes any excess colour that is sitting on the stencilled areas.
In my stash I also had two panels of mixed media paper that had been sponged with Dylusions paint that were the perfect match for these stencilled panels:
I stamped the shoes
(Groovy Platform Shoes) onto the sponged panels using Versafine Onyx Black, which dries eventually on painted surfaces, but because I was too impatient, I heat-embossed the shoes with clear embossing powder.
Then it was just a case of adhering the panels to my base cards, adhering the cut-out stamped images on top and stamping the sentiments
(Groovy Shoes). Because the sentiments were stamped onto inked (rather than painted) surfaces, the ink absorbed straight away and didn't need embossing.
Remember, if you try out any of the techniques from our Spotlight posts and add your project to our
Spotlight Project Showcase you have a chance to win a $15 gift certificate (random drawing) OR your choice of 5x7 stamp set + a Spotlight Project guest designer spot (randomly drawn from the Top 3 picks).
