{Spotlight Project} Monika Gets Creative With Nesting Dies - Part 2

Hello Crafty Friends! Welcome to Part 2 of my little Nesting Dies Series. Apart from using Nesting Dies, I went to town using some of my favourite Stamp Club sets: Fluttery with its matching Fluttery DiesMixed Media GrungeSketchy Alphabet and the current Stamp Club set Wanderlust for a second bonus project, just because I was on a roll.

Let's start with my first project, a little folding card which could also be used as a little scrapbook, here it is:

It came together quite quickly. Start off by cutting the largest of the Curly Labels/Tags Nesting Dies 8 times from white card, sprinkle 4 of them with purple Brusho, spritz with water and allow to dry.

Stamp the flower post 4 times and the butterfly twice on mixed media card.

Watercolour the images with markers and fuzzy cut them as shown below.

Stamp out the sentiment 'take time and watch the flower grow' using the Sketchy Alphabet set and die-cut the flower pot in black as shadow.

Use one of the remaining 4 white pieces, stamp the flower pot in Elegant Eggplant, stamp and die-cut the sentiment label and blend lightly around the edges.

Attach the flower pots and butterflies and add some more stamping to your pieces using stamps from the Mixed Media Grunge set.
TIP!: If you don't want to fuzzy cut the little white pieces around the flower stems, simply colour them in with a black marker.

Next place the monochromatic front piece face down the left hand side and the other three remaining white pieces next to it. Add a little adhesive tape and attach two lengths of ribbon, the longer one for tying up at the bottom. I didn't measure my ribbon and simply cut off the excess.

Attach the flower pot pieces as shown below starting with the pot and butterfly only on your left hand side.

The reverse will now look like this:

Finish off with some metal embellishments and sentiment label before folding up and tying a bow in the front. I did loop the ribbon ends around each other before wrapping one around the back and tying the bow in front. Enjoy some photos of the finished inside.

Now on to my quick bonus project which uses a little sponging and stamping, here it is:

As I said earlier, I was on a roll and cut out the smallest of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies, lightly sponged it with Daffodil Delighr and added some hills using Bermuda Bay ink.

I then stamped the sentiment in Elegant Eggplant.

Next, I sponged in the 'rays' using a darker yellow (Crushed Curry) and a piece of card as mask which I moved anti-clockwise.

The bike was stamped partially off the card to underline the suggested movement from the sentiment.

To help everything pop and because I love the combination, I layered my finished topper on a purple base card.

Here are a few close ups of today's projects:

That's it from me for today. If you fancy getting creative with Nesting Dies or make a project using any of the techniques or ideas shared by my teamies in their Spotlight Posts, make sure to link up your makes with our Spotlight Project Gallery here.

Have a lovely day!
hugs
