{Digital Wednesday} Four Tags, Four Techniques -- Creative Coffee Cup Tags by Maria

Happy Wednesday! Digital Wednesday is back and every 3rd Wednesday in January, February, and March, STAMPgirl Maria will be sharing her creations spotlighting our digital images either by themselves or together with other STAMPlorations products. We'll draw one lucky crafter to win a $15 gift code -- randomly drawn from all comments left on the Digital Wednesday post for the month, as well as from the featured designer's blog.

STAMPgirl Maria created four coffee cup tags using four different techniques.

So. I'm pretty much a newbie to digital stamps. Although I love getting inky with actual stamps, there are some benefits to digi stamps - no smudges, perfect coverage, image resizing, even layering images (though I've yet to give that a try). I used good old Microsoft Word and my Canon ink jet printer and it was easy.

I will have three Digital Wednesday posts for you this quarter. Each post will have four projects. Today I have printed from Bloomdala Coffee Cup to Go four cups in their original size, colored them using different techniques, fussy cut them and turned them into tags. Ready?

First up, I had to "rainbow" a cup ;) Colored with alcohol markers. And topped with a gem.

For my second cup I chose kraft cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

My third cup nearly ended up in the garbage can. I thought I'd be clever and print on colored cardstock and then just apply some quick color with distress inks...

...not so pretty. Could be a cardstock issue. Could be the ink wasn't completely dry. I think there was some smearing with the water-based inks. It was, as I've heard many cardmakers say, a hot mess.

But I perservered. Added Versamark and holographic embossing powder and voila!

The image is still there. Pretty difficult to capture on camera however!

My last cup is no-line watercolored. I love the result - makes me feel all Debby Hughes-ish.

Please visit my blog for more details about these projects and some tips I learned in the process.

May your coffee be strong and your work week short!
