{Spotlight Project} Shery Creates a Mosaic Effect with Painters Tape

Hi, guys! After for what seemed like forever, I finally was able to create something and take step-by-step photos. Still in keeping with my crafting theme of late (the I've-only-got-a-few-minutes-to-myself-before-my-baby-wants-my-full-attention-again), I created a one layer card with the simplest of supplies: stamps, inks, and painters tape -- for a mosaic effect.

STEP 1
Using strips of painters tape, I divided my card base into 9 smaller panels.

STEP 2
I sponged some ink onto the open areas.

STEP 3
I stamped the large narcissus all over the card base. [You can also use smaller images, but large stamps work well with this technique.]

STEP 4
I added some texture by randomly stamping the scripty and numbers in the same ink color as the background. I also "colored" the center of the narcissus with the ink splatter stamp in a darker ink color.

STEP 5
I removed the painters tape and stamped the sentiment in black and the card is done :o)

Here's the card up close.

I hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial and I look forward to seeing your own creations using this technique! See you soon :o)
