{Spotlight Project} Shirley Creates A Set Of Floral Notelets

I've been playing with Infusions powders again - they work beautifully with this ARTplorations Peony Number One stencil, so I decided to make a set of notelets.

I started off by tapping the powders over the stencil. As with Brushos, you only need a tiny amount.

Then spritzed with water and let it sit for a minute.

Carefully lifted the stencil.

Then flipped the stencil over onto another piece of card.

Squished all that lovely ink down with a paper towel so that the colours mingled and soaked into the card.

Then I set to work with coloured pencils to give a bit of definition to the negative areas.

Then mounted the panels onto white card and added a sentiment from The Birds And The Blooms to each.

I made two more in the purple range.

And two in the pink range.  I think this pair might be my favourite!

I used normal cardstock for the panels rather than mixed media or watercolour paper, because it is less absorbent, allowing the powders to dissolve in the water and develop before soaking into the card.

Try out any of the techniques from our Spotlight posts and add your project to our Spotlight Project gallery.

  2. Love the idea of getting cards
for the price of one - and you're
not wasting any of the ink or
    powder.
    Fantastic flowers.
    thanks for sharing.
