Hello Crafty Friends! It's Monika here today with a slightly more complex Mixed Media Tutorial. I had this idea of making my own art journal for a while. The idea is to have something where I can put ideas on canvas and record the materials used and observations made.
The whole book is made from scratch using canvas pieces, card, thick card, sketch paper and a coloured page from Color Blooms, I made a while ago using Brushos and Promarkers. Ribbons, sequins and glitter were pretty extras.
Here are a couple of photos of the finished front cover
...and some of the inside too.
including the art journal page I made for the Mixed Media Challenge post here.
There is a slideshow video detailing each one of the steps. This way it will be easy even for novices to make a similar project.
I have used centimeters for my measurements, for an easy conversion use 1" = 2.4 cm.
This book could easily be added to with extra pockets, it could also be used as a scrapbook for example. The pages fold over easily due to scored lines and there is plenty of space to cater for 3D embellishments on the pages too.
Here is the little video:
If you feel inspired to make your own book, why not link up with our Mixed Media Challenge. I am looking forward to seeing your creations.
That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!
hugs
