{Mixed Media Tutorial} Fun with Brushos by Amy
Good afternoon crafty friends, Amy here, and today I have a fun little tutorial for you to make a sign for your art/craft room using ARTplorations stencils and Brushos! :o)
I hope you follow along and have some fun along the way...
Start off with a flat canvas panel (I used an 8x5 panel) and use the ART HAPPENS mask as a guide to place the ETHNIC ORGANIC 2 stencil around it. Spread some texture paste thru the Ethnic Organic 2 stencil with a palette knife. Let dry completely and remove the Art Happens mask.
Now that the texture paste is dry sprinkle Brushos onto your panel and spread with a dry brush and Matte Medium. I like using Matte Medium with Brushos or pigment powders as it gives your more control of where your color is going, the intensity of the color and seals it as the same time. :o) Sprinkle more Brusho colors and apply with the Matte Medium and dry brush. Once the desired color is achieved, let dry completely. I used Emerald Green and Violet Brushos here.
Bring the ART HAPPENS mask back and place where you'd like it and go over and around the stencil with Black Gesso or acrylic paint and a foam brush/pouncer. Peel off the stencil with a palette knife before the paint sets. ;o)
Once the panel has dried completely, go around the "Art Happens" with a white pigment or Ink pen. I used a white Molotow Pen here. Then sprinkle some white paint splatters- Dylusions White used here.
Stamp or use letter die cuts to add the word "Here" and outline with black. I went with white die cut letters I cut with my Curio and outlined in Black Pitt Pen to add some contrast to the Art Happens lettering but still ties in all together.
There we have a fun little sign for our craft/art rooms using ARTplorations stencils and Brushos with very little other supplies. Thanks for stoppin' by today and don't forget to use STAMPGIRLAMY to get 20% off on all STAMPlorations stamps, stencils and dies. :o)
Happy Craftin'!
