{Spotlight Project} Shirley Uses Mop Up Panels for Color
Hello peeps! I tend to have a lot of mop up panels in my stash. I use Distress Inks as watercolour paints on an acrylic block, and when I've finished I spritz and mop up the colours onto a piece of card, so I'm left with lots of multi-coloured inky panels. I decided to put some to good use, and save me some colouring time!
I found a panel with some yellows and greens in it, because I was doing a floral card. I positioned my stamps to take advantage of the different shades and colours.
I did a little doctoring to the stamped images by trimming off the right-hand leaf and adding it on the left. Then I cut around the rim of the vase so that the stalks appeared to standing in the vase rather than behind it. I added a couple of strips of card waste across the centre, and stamped the sentiment from
I did the same thing with another panel that had slightly more green in it.
It's a nice way of getting colour onto cards - and of using up that mop up stash!

ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is such a good idea. I hate to just wipe away any ink, so I am going to use your suggestion. The look is just wonderful. I am going to also die cut my extra ink mop ups. THANK YOU.

ReplyDeleteNeed to remember this color combo, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHaven't thought of using another panel to pickup leftover color. This is a neat way to have some premade papers for the next project.
