{Spotlight Project} Emboss Resist with Cornelia

Hi, it's Cornelia today. This tutorial is about emboss resist technique - nothing new, an oldie, but goodie. I got inspired by Kelly Latevola from You and Your Big Dreams, who recently did a video tutorial on this technique. In addition, there is a slur of youtube videos out there....and now you even have a quick photo tutorial :)

Lets get started.

My supplies: card stock, distress inks and the Trendy Leaves set - after all, fall is here. The sentiment is from the new Holiday Expressions: Thankful for Autumn set.

Cover the cardstock with Distress inks and let them dry really well - (you may do this before you go to bed and then continue the next day....) After it's all really dry, rub it with your embossing buddy and pick your stamps, ink them up with Versamark and stamp them onto the card stock.

Heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

Take a dark Distress ink (I used black soot) and sponge it over the card stock. The heat embossed elements will resist the ink and stand out.

Buff it up a bit to get the black ink off your heat embossed parts.

I also used a stitched frame and cut the card stock slightly smaller than an A2 card. Mounted it to the white card base and added the white heat embossed sentiment.

Happy Fall to all of you!
