{Spotlight Project} Shirley Chooses a Christmas Tree

I've been choosing a Christmas tree - from the Mixed Media Elements set! Can you see any Christmassy images in there? The ones that sparked my imagination are the second and third down on the right. With those nice tapered sides I thought they had the great makings of a tree when used the other way up. The image below them, and the top two, could work as fillers. The one next to the numbers could be a tree trunk. That inksplat one near the bottom would make a great tree top. See where I'm going with it?

I arranged the stamps on my block, inked them up with Pine Needles and Forest Moss Distress Inks, then spritzed and stamped onto mixed media paper. There was still plenty of ink left on the stamps, so I re-spritzed and stamped on a second piece of paper.

The trunk was inked up just with Forest Moss, spritzed, stamped, respritzed, restamped. Then I needed a pot for the Christmas tree. Enter, Vignette: Retro Mod Shapes. This is such a versatile and useful set.

I decided against any sentiment or text on the front, but I couldn't go past splattering :) I added a bit of machine stitching on both, then mounted them onto kraft, trimming one to show the kraft card base, but leaving the other full sized.

I can see quite a few more Christmas images in that set. The two circular images would make great baubles, don't you think?
