Hello Crafty Friends! It's Monika here, showing you how I made a bunch of tags to include a personal message with the little de-stash parcels, I've been sending out recently.
The current stamp club set Art Expressions with its fun and uplifting messages is just perfect for this purpose. Here are the three designs, I made.
Let me take you through the process of making my tags. First of all I cut a few tags from white card using the second largest of the Stitched Tags Nesting Dies.
Keeping an eye on postage, I wanted them to be a good size whilst at the same time not adding too much weight hence I decided to stick to one stamped layer only. They also needed to be quick to make as I had lots of items listed on an auction site, which meant lots of tags to make. Keeping it simple was key.
My first design is based on a card I made last month, featured in the Inspiration Project Post here, and I started off with stamping the black elements of my tag.
For my second design, I stamped the easel first and aligned the brush in a way that wouldn't require any masking.
I then collected some colours, picked up one of the splats from the Scribbly Splattery Grunge set and added colour to my designs. The splats on the easel tags were inked using two colours and the bottom of the easel was masked off with a post-it note.
Next I stamped border of rainbow coloured splats for my third design.
This time I used black Versafine to stamp the sentiment, paint tubes and crayons. I felt it was safer than Memento given that the splats weren't fully dry. The card I used locks the ink in quite well, but I didn't want to take the risk.
Now I came to the stage of finishing touches. I added a bit of extra stamping to my easel tags using the dotty border stamp from the Mixed Media Grunge set before finishing off with some yellow fibers.
The paint pot tags were kept very CAS, and I only added a couple of doodled lines to ground the splat and sentiment, again finishing off with matching fibers.
The rainbow tags were given a doodled outline originating from one of the crayons and finished off with a few sequins, ribbon and fibers.
Such wonderful and colorful tags - Love love them! Nice work!
