Hello STAMPlorations Friends! For today's Spotlight Project I used the reverse of a stamp to stamp my watercolour look background panel. It's a great way for stretching your stamps. Here is today's card:
I attached my stamp with the smooth reverse side facing up to my acrylic block, partially inked with yellow, spritzed lightly with water and stamped on my piece of white card.
Next I inked up another part of my stamp with the green, lightly spritzed with water again and stamped it well aligned with the yellow.
I finished off with a touch of blue.
Of course, instead of using an acrylic block you can equally well use a stamping tool. This will most certainly help you to stay well aligned.
I preferred stamping each colour separately. If you want to you can ink up the stamp in one go. Just make sure to use the lighter colours first to minimise ink pad contamination.
My stamped background looked a little bit like a landscape which led me to picking up the Beautiful You set for a silhouette flower and sentiment and the New Beginnings set for the little birds to enhance the landscape feel.
I decided to stamp the word 'Beautiful' in blue to extend my 'lake'.
This finished my little tutorial. I hope you feel inspired to use the reverse of your stamp to create some watercolour look backgrounds. Should you find yourself placing an order soon, you could get yourself a 20% discount using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout.
Wishing you a wonderful week! Hope you're staying safe and healthy.
