Hello Ina here. Welcome to my
Second Mixed Media Tutorial for
STAMPlorations
Last month I showed you ways to play around with some Mixed Media elements but wasn't as such a specific tutorial so this time round I though I would share the different outcomes you can achieve with just one stencil using some of your favourite products. For this tutorial I am using the stencil
Here Goes!
Card #1 - Ink Blending
Start by adhering stencil to photo paper and blend with distress inks, going over the edge then using the smaller stencil ink it with just two colours giving it another layer.
Cut with stitched die adding
Happy stamp and finish with Bazzil Card Base to match.

Card #2 - Using Embellishment Mousse
This was an easy one.
Simply blend your mousse through the stencil. I used Nuvo Aloe Vera, Coastal Surf and Toasted Almond, adding Little Birdie Frosted Fizz to the centre. This puffs up when heat embossed. You could go with a shaped card like I did here by die cutting, leaving the top to flip open.
Add a touch of mousse to the centre and layer the
Big Hugs phrase die then attach to white card base.
*****
Card #3 - Heat Embossing
Go dramatic here by heat Embossing with your favourite gold powder. I used Nuvo Gold Enhancement and cut the Celebrate dies from
Skinny Sentiments.
Hint: Before I adhere to my backing and card base with tape I only undo half so if it lands up crooked it is easy to adjust.
Finish card off with gold frame and attach to white card base.

Card #4 - Distress Oxide Inks on Photo Paper
I have kept this one till last as it is my favourite. Do you have a bountiful supply of photo paper? I know I do and I love the results you get with Tim's Oxide Inks by adding and drying creating wonderful layers. The best part is when you are finished just wipe over it with a paper towel and watch the colour explode. You can see the cloudy look and the transformation below. I used Cracked Pistachio,Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Black Soot.
Are you familiar with Art Alchemy Sparks? They give the most gorgeous shimmery result and that is another medium you can add to your stencil image.
I used Unicorn Hair and Mermaid Sparkle. Now to add your sentiment. I die cut the
Thinking of You phrase die using the same oxide inks as above. Attach to coloured card base to match. I forgot to take a photo as I was more concerned that it was going to fall apart while adhering it.
I did make another similar to this but is unfinished at present and decided to leave it for another time.
Hope you have enjoyed this month's tutorial. Thank you for the wonderful comments on my last one. I really appreciate you taking the time to do so. There's one more to come. So I will see you then.
Thanks for the wonderful ideas
