{New Stamp Line!} Introducing Dee's Artsy Impressions

Today is another awesome day at STAMPlorations HQ. Back in October, we introduced our first stamp designer recruit, our very own Shirley Bampton and her stamp line, The Bee's Knees. Today, I'm once again excited to share the news that we've got another stamp designer: Deepti Malik!

Deepti will be designing stamps under her stamp line, Dee's Artsy Impressions, and you are going to love her first stamp set, which we're previewing today. I am beyond excited that in addition to creating projects for STAMPlorations, she's designing stamps that we can all play with! Make sure to read to the end of this post because you have two -- TWO -- chances to win Deepti's first stamp set before it's even available in the shop :o)

To start off Dee's Artsy Impressions, we're releasing Blooming Buds on June 1 (or much sooner than that -- make sure to follow us by email or on Google Friend Connect so you don't miss it). Deepti also has another set we're releasing in June alongside stamps that Shirley and I designed. These 3 stamps are special releases to celebrate STAMPlorations' second birthday. Then come July, Deepti's got two more sets. Exciting times ahead, for sure! But before I get ahead of myself and end up spilling everything (because there is a lot more exciting news to share from the STAMPlorations HQ), let's hear it from our new stamp designer herself:

"I don’t have a memory of being a good artist from my kindergarten days, but when I see the notes from my teachers, I believe that I had some drawing skills right from the start. I guess I owe this to my father; he is a great artist, only that he never took it seriously ;) I am glad I got his genes LOL 

"Moving on… later in the years, I developed pencil sketching as a hobby. But then I had my studies and a career to work on, so sketching took a back seat! It was after I got married and moved to the US that I had plenty of time and support from my husband to get back to my hobby. 

"Little did I know that I will end up being passionate about card making and one fine day due to some kind of magic spell, Shery Russ reached out and asked me if I would like to design stamps. What?!?!? I mean what just happened here, I was in disbelief. How did she know that I could design stamps? It seems she has some special powers!* 

"Although I was in disbelief, I clearly remember reaching for my notepad and scribbling a few stamp designs and the rest is history! Here I am today sharing my little story. I want to thank Shery for bringing me on board and I am excited to know what you think about my designs!"

Deepti is incredibly talented, both as a cardmaker and as an artist. It's so much fun working with her since January. She does most of the work, of course...I simply bug her about the little details when it comes to getting her stamps from paper to production-ready images ;o) I'm so happy and proud that she agreed to make STAMPlorations home to her stamp line.

So here's Deepti's first stamp set, Blooming Buds. It's a 4" by 6" set consisting of 10 images and 3 sentiments. This set lends itself to a variety of styles: from CAS to mixed media and everything in between. Whether you're a colorist or love to paper-piece, you'll find Blooming Buds a wonderful stamp set to work with.
