Thank you to everyone who responded to the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Design Team call we put out in April.
With so many applications to sift through (a whopping 114!), it wasn't an easy task to pick the design team members. In order to come to a fair decision, I did blind judging. That is, I asked applicants to submit project photos without any watermark or identifying information to tell me who they are.
I'm proud to reveal the 7 talented ladies joining STAMPlorations. They officially start their term as mixed media design team members in July, and I'm excited to have them sharing their creativity and talents here on the STAMPlorations blog. Here they are. Please welcome each one of them and I hope you can stop by their blogs!
ASMAH ZAINAL ABIDIN
"Hi! I am Asmah Zainal Abidin, a wife to Amir Shah and a mother to three beautiful girls and one handsome boy living in northern Malaysia. I have been a mass-communicator and television co-producer for some years and now doing what I love most since my childhood -- my passion in arts and crafts, that is! I love artwork, art journal, scrapbooking, making cards, altered projects, home decorating, and photography besides allocating time for sewing, counted cross-stitching, ribbon embroidery, beadwork and needlecraft. My free moment will see me making flowers and embellishments. I love to make my own background and to experiment, learning happy mistakes along the way ever since my love for mixed media emerged the past couple of years. My style has always been shabby/vintage but most of all, I like to dabble in my work with inks and paints, which is my true forte and happiness. I love getting inspirations from other crafters around the world and all over the place. Nonetheless, my children are my strength and main source to keep me going into my artistic journey which can be viewed at my blog."
CAROL DUNHAM
"I've crafted forever...knitting, crocheting, cross stitch and tapestry, finally finding paper crafting about 10 years ago. I started with cardmaking and did some scrapbooking before finding digiscrapping....all very clean and genteel! After a couple of years spent doing wedding stationery for various family members, I found myself with time to spare and tried my hand at some mixed media work....lots of inks, paints, textures and mess! I hate mess but I love the results. I'm thrilled to be asked to be part of STAMPlorations' first mixed media design team and look forward to sharing some inspiration with everyone."
IRIT SHALOM
"My name is Irit Shalom and I am an Israeli designer. In my real life I am a working dentist, mom of 4 grown-ups, wife of a retired high police officerm and a grandmother of 2 adorable grandkids. I am totally versatile in my styles and projects. I make altered art and mixed media, stamp, make cards, jewelry and scrapbooking. I work in all possible styles from dark and grungy, shabby, romantic, vintage, eclectic, and even cute. For the last 5 years, I designed and still design for more than 35 manufacturers around the world. I was web and print published in almost every possible publication since 2012 and was spotlighted in dozens of manufacturers' blogs. I hope to inspire our readers with my step by step tutorials and other inspirational projects."
KIM JOHNNY
"I am a mom who still loves to play. Things that make me happy in no particular order: photography, comic books, stamps, paints, inks, silly things kids do, seeing that a-ha moment in my child. I have always liked creating, inspiration comes from random places. I
enjoy bright colors and flowers, but I have a darker slightly creepier side, too. Mixed media really is an awesome adventure, so many possibilities! I have no set style and don't really want one; I like to play with whatever catches my fancy :) One day it is mixed media and the next it may be all digital play....as long as I am creating, it is a good day and time well spent."
LEE-ANNE CROSS
"I reside in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, with my ever-supportive hubby of 40 years and adorable border collie. We’re so very blessed to have one grown son who lives in the same city. Thanks to a family friend with a commercial stamp business, I’ve been an avid stamper for 30 years (gasp!) and love to work with all types of media. When I’m not in my studio creating, you can find me in my garden, or reading a book."
SUSANNE ROSE
"I am Susanne Rose from Germany, mum of two lovely kids, and a full-time crafter and mixed media artist. I started painting with acrylics when I was about 15 years old. I took a break with "messing arround" after my study because I started with photography and some graphic design. After my daughter was born, I became a scrapbooker and my passion started growing. Now I love creating mini albums, cards, and different mixed media pieces. I am addicted to stamps, stencils, dies, colors, and paper! My style is most of the time very colorful. I try to express my mood in every work. I am so very proud to be part of the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Design Team."
TANJA KABEL
"Hi, there. My name is Tanja and I live in Germany with my wonderful husband, two children - Finn (8) and Emily (5) - and four cats: Tapldi, Simba, Finnja, and Cookie. I am addicted to stamping and paper crafting for a while now and I decided to start my own blog in February 2014. I love to find new ways to use my supplies and try new techniques. I enjoy working with all kinds of different mediums and I also adore the whole range of Distress products.
I love to make people happy with my creations and I sure hope that you will be one of them.
I am thrilled to join the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Design Team."
