Actually, I think every crafter ought to have one of these!
Hi all, it's Monika back with a fun spotlight project for you. I've had a similar one for some years, mainly for when I am seeing clients, but I have been increasingly using it for crafting too. This is a sort of a follow on from Monday's Mixed Media project. I simply created another panel for the reverse side of Nick's door sign. Here it is:
I worked again with the same light and dark green inks plus a pigment ink which was more of a blue green, here are the steps:
- cut a piece of white card to fit the size of your sign, blend light green ink all over
- stamp the frame of your postage stamps, Gone Postal stamp set, and mask off, if you wish bleach some more frames into your background using your watered up stamp
- with the masks still on stencil the Weathered Wood, ideally using a shaving brush
- stencil a little Leaf Bliss and Art Splatters in the dark green and blend some shading around the postage stamps just before removing your masks and stamping the images into place and lossely colouring the frame with pastel beige Promarker
- stamp and clear emboss the bird, add some Antique Gold PearlEx Pigment and heat set, this helps to blend the colours, see my video here for more details
- blend around the outside and add some texture using a dried, ruffled up baby wipe and one of the border stamps from the Mixed Media Elements set
- attach your die-cut letters and add white gel pen highlights
- attach to your chipboard or strong cardboard sign
Here is the craft along video with more hints and tips:
This is what the front of the sign looks like, you can find the tutorial here on the STAMPlorations blog.
Just imagine, the possibilities are endless, now I have to add a reverse to my sign too. Might have to be 'Monika's Creative Heaven'. Looking forward to seeing what you will make.
Have a lovely day!
hugs
