{Spotlight Project} Shirley Creates A Snow Storm

Hello Peeps! I've got two cards for you today made from one background panel. I made a full snowy sky panel then decided I could get double the mileage out of it by cutting it with the Stitched Snow Hills die and pairing it with white card.

Once I'd cut the card I lined one half up on white card to get the die in exactly the same position before cutting.

That gave me one panel with a low horizon which would work well with branches and one panel with a high horizon which would work well as a hill.

For the low horizon, I stamped some twig images from Deepti's Wooded set. I added snowy highlights on the branches with a white Posca paint pen, which you can see on the finished card.

I stamped and coloured an owl from Big Owls and a hat from Baa Baa, fussy cut them and sat the owl on the branches. I added a few snowflakes with the Posca pen to give a bit more depth of field, and finished the card off with a gold Merry Christmas diecut.

The next card is self-explanatory. The sleigh image is from Joyful.

Here's another look at the two cards together. I hope I've inspired you to get more mileage out of your backgrounds when you're making your Christmas cards.
