{Spotlight Project} Nonni Plays with Classy, Rustic, and Shiny Elements in a Fun Coffee-Themed Card!

Hi all STAMPlorations fans! It's Nonni here playing with one of the new sets we just released last week: VIGNETTE: Eat Drink Be Merry. One day when I was brewing coffee, I realized the piece of cardboard in the package of my coffee filters would be a fun template for a coffee-themed card and that's how this project saw daylight. Have a look at my card...Then let's see what we'll need!

I wanted to combine different style elements to this card: classic and elegant, black & white stamping, more earthy, rustic embellies to soften it a bit, and then shine and bling to add glam! Did I go overboard? You decide! :)

The classy elements are:

• white cardstock for card base (double the size of the coffee filter template if you want to try my idea)
• black (Versafine) ink
• coffee filter template
• VIGNETTE: Eat Drink Be Merry stamp set
• white satin ribbon (not in the photo)

The rustic elements are:

• jute string
• a doily -- what a surprise...Nonni using a doily! ;)
• burlap (burlap paper by DCWV used here)

The shiny elements are:

• clear rhinestones
• clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen

You will also need the basic supplies of adhesive, temporary adhesive, scoring tool and good scissors.

If you want to make a card with coffee-filter template as I did, score your card to half and adhere your template to it using temporary adhesive placing the straight side against the spine of your card base:

Cut the card base following your template. It's worth keeping your scissors in an angle - this gives a cleaner cut than just cutting straight from above. After cutting the base, I randomly stamped the fun coffee pots all over the card base.

I assembled the card, adding another stamped image and a sentiment as focal points. I tried to mimic the way Deepti often uses string - very difficult!! Can we get a tutorial Deepti, please?!? :)

Anyways, if you look at the first photo below, you can see the card is ready but the rhinestones and the Wink of Stella glitter I added to all stamped images are still missing. In my opinion, the glittery version is more fun. The second photo has the shine elements added. I tried to tilt the light so you could see the glitter better and it looks almost a bit harsh now but IRL, the Wink of Stella shine is quite subtle.

Well then, I don't know about you but I could use a cup of coffee now. Accompanied by some chocolate, I think. November always increases the amount of chocolate eaten in this household! :) Have a good rest of the week everyone!
