Hello peeps! I've been playing around with ARTplorations stencils on my gel plate, and I thought I'd show you how I got some gorgeous monochromatic pieces to use as backgrounds.
I used Distress Oxides to create these backgrounds. Once I'd brayered the Oxide onto the gel plate I pressed the stencil down, covered with scrap paper and brayered over the paper. Then I lifted the stencil, which took off some of the colour, and took the print on a clean piece of card.
When I chopped the Dots and Dashes piece in half it reminded me of a baby blanket, so that was the theme for my card! I added a fringe border with one of the stamps from Artsy Doodled Borders then stamped and coloured and fussy-cut the teddy from Heaven Sent. All that remained was to add a border of hearts using the stamps from Two of Us, then arrange all the pieces on the card. Here's another look at the finished article:
You'll be seeing more cards using these backgrounds over the next few weeks. Hopefully I've inspired you to get your stencils out and make some lovely patterned backgrounds!
