{Mixed Media Tutorial} Butterflies Art Journal Page by Tanja

Hi there, it's Tanja here with another step-by-step tutorial. I would like to show you how to create this Art Journal Page. If you are interested in the products I used or other STAMPlorations, ARTplorations or CUTplorations products, I have a special treat for you: use the discount code STAMPGIRLTANJA and get 20% off on all stamps, stencils, and dies.

  • cover a piece of Mixed Media Paper with white gesso
  • add some color with Prima Marketing Sparks Acrylic Paint (Unicorn Hair, Butterfly Spells)

  • add some texture by stamping the bubble wrap with Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel), the leaves with Archival Ink (Garden Patina), the dot pattern and the newsprint with Archival Ink (Black Soot) - all those fantastic stamps are from the Mixed Media Grunge set

  • mix some Prima Marketing Sparks Acrylic Paint (Iris Potion) with Acrylic Glazing Liquid and paint it over the stenciled areas, let it sit for a moment and wipe it away with a baby wipe - repeat the process until you are happy with the result

  • stamp some butterflies from the Trendy Butterflies 2 set with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder

  • add some dark teal spray and some Color Bloom Spray (Vintage Coal), dilute it with water and move the color around until your are happy with the result

  • cut out the Flutter Zen 1 from Mixed Media Paper, color it with Prima Marketing Sparks Acrylic Paint (Iris Potion, Butterfly Spells) and glue it directly over the heat-embossed "shadow-version"
  • stamp the sentiment from the Trendy Butterflies 2 set with Archival Ink (Black Soot) as the final step

I hope you got inspired by my project today.

Yours,
