Are you a Pinner?  For a good while I would Pin, Pin, Pin and never go back to look at what I'd pinned, but now I actually use my Pinterest boards as a resource - great for when I've got creative block.  This one took my eye a while back, and I had the idea of a dress silhouette.

So this is what I made:

I started off by stamping a dress and tailor's dummy from my new PartyDresses set onto white card, then cut it out and covered the tailor's dummy in masking fluid.  I used a silicone tipped brush to dip into the masking fluid because it ruins ordinary brushes (I got rid of the blobby bit on her shoulder).

Using temporary adhesive I placed the dress form onto my card panel, and made a palette on an acrylic block with my Distress Inks.

I loaded my paintbrush with water and started sloshing the colours on. (Looks good enough to go at this stage!)

I stamped some images on the dress and around the background.  The tiny flower is from Dee's Party Mates set, and the grungy image is from Patchwork Frenzy: Graphic Pentagons.

Then I removed the dress form, which left this lovely image.  The sentiment is from Shery's Party Time.

And it left me with a pretty stamped dress form, which I turned into this bonus card:

Just rubbed off the masking fluid and painted the dummy, then added a sentiment and some more flowers.  And some splatters - couldn't help myself ;)

Products Shirley used in today's project:

PartyDresses
Party Time
Party Mates
Graphic Pentagons
