Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge #10

Welcome to our 10th bi-weekly sketch challenge! Here’s the sketch for this challenge. It’s open to interpretation. Feel free to change the orientation of the sketch, use different shapes, add other elements to suit the type of paper craft you’re making, and so on — just make sure the sketch is recognizable in your submission(s). You can use stamps by other companies to create projects that you enter to our challenges, although if you have STAMPlorations stamps in your stash, we'd be tickled if you use them!

PRIZE
The sketch challenges are sponsored by our sister shop, All About Scrapping. The winner gets to pick 3 DIGITAL products from the shop — any combination of printable sheetsPhotoshop templates, and digital paper packs. The winner will also be invited to be a Guest Designer in next month's sketch challenge.

A TWIST IN OUR CHALLENGES

INSPIRATION PROJECTS
Our guest designer is Carol, who was our sketch challenge #7 winner.

Guest Designer
Hi, I’m Carol Mayne, from just me: c blog, incredibly honoured, excited, and a tad nervous to be a guest designer for this STAMPlorations sketch. My husband and I live in Canmore, a small town nestled just at the edge of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta. One of my most important roles is being “Aunty C” to my 4-year-old niece and 2-year-old nephew who, along with the rest of my family, live in ‘big city’ (which I still consider ‘home’) four hours’ drive north of us. I’ve been crafting for approximately two years, with my inspiration being my niece. When she was born, I decided that for her first year, I would celebrate her ‘birth day’ each month – the 3rd – with a special note, often sent as an email message to her dad and mom, my brother and sister-in-law. When I was gearing up for her “Happy 26 Months Old” note (as you can gather, one year spilled into two…and three…and now four, and I’ve adopted the same program for my nephew, whose special day is the 12th), I realized she was old enough to receive ‘real’ mail – and what better than to send her cards every month. My first card was a disaster - no supplies beyond basic papers and computer images - that went only as far as the recycle bin. After that, I wandered into blogland and, to my astonishment, discovered the most amazing products (dies, stamps and patterned papers, especially) the most talented, inspiring designers, and an incredibly warm, welcoming community. Let’s just say: I love card-making; I love entering challenges; I love the feeling of ‘accomplishment’ that comes when I can transform blank paper into little ‘somethings’ that, hopefully, bring a smile to people’s faces. Please join me in this challenge; I look forward to the dazzling delights you’ll share!
And here are the inspiration projects by the STAMPlorations design team.

READY TO PLAY?
  • Create a new project -- card, tag, mini album/scrapbook cover, layout, home decor item, or any paper craft -- on ANY THEME using the sketch as your guide. Any style is welcome — CAS, shabby chic, vintage, grunge, and so on. Post your creation on your blog and submit it by 11:55 p.m. PDT on Friday, May 2. Don’t have a blog? You can post a photo of your project on your Pinterest page, Flickr, or any public online gallery.
  • You must use stamps (rubber, cling, clear, digi — from any company) in your creation(s).
  • Copy the link of your blog entry where you have your project posted and enter it to the linky found at the end of this post. Remember to link directly to your blog post, not just your blog URL. (This will make it easy for us to find your submission and leave a comment. Please turn off word verification as well.)
  • Please include a text link back to this post in your blog post, as well as display the sketch, to encourage other paper crafters to participate.
  • You can submit up to 3 entries for this challenge.
  • You can submit your creation(s) to other challenges — as many as you want — except to other sketch challenges for obvious reasons!
  • Be a follower of our blog to qualify for the prize.
  • And lastly, have a great time creating your project! :-)

We’ll announce the winner and top picks on Sunday, May 4, here on the STAMPlorations™ blog and on the All About Scrapping page on Facebook. That’s it…we look forward to seeing what you create!
