{Spotlight Project} Monika Plays Again With Ink And Water

Hello STAMPlorations Friends! Following on from last month's Spotlight Project and the different results achieved by spritzing the card stock with water before stamping rather than the inked up stamp, I wondered how it might look using an outline stamp instead of a silhouette stamp.

Here is today's card using Feathery:

Firstly I cut my piece of white card, got both my stamping tools ready, grabbed my stamps and chose my inks. I went for inks which would blend well and decided to use Aurore, Emeraude and Mer Du Sud Izink inks.

There were a couple of considerations before I started. Once the card had been spritzed with water I needed to be able to work quickly.  Plus having decided to do some masking for the middle feather, I needed to work with both my stamping tools and make myself a template before starting to help with the alignment of my stamps.

Using my piece of card and the MISTI, I aligned the first two stamps, picked them up with the lid, removed my piece of card and stamped the feathers on a large piece of scrap paper ...

... which I transferred to my other stamping tool. I aligned the central feather and pick this up with the lid too. I stamped and cut my ask and was now ready to start.

Using Aurore and Mer Du Sud, I inked up the first two stamps, spritzed my piece of card with water, quickly placed it into my MISTI and stamped the feathers.  The water had pooled around the blue feather more than around the yellow one.

I quickly transferred my wet card to my other stamping tool and stamped the central feather using Emeraude ink. I allowed the ink to move naturally while my piece of card was drying only removing the pooling around the lower edge.

Once dry, I place my card in my MISTI, covered the central feather with my mask and stamped the first two feathers again.  The photo below was taken after I had stamped the feathers and just before I stamped the central feather.

I removed the mask and stamped the central feather using my stamping tool.

To finish off, I added my sentiment, splatters, sequins and layered on a matching base card.

Before I go, I wanted to give you a Heads Up on a fantastic new subscription Shery has introduced:

That's it from me for today. Hope my project inspired you to get creative with inks and water.
Have a lovely week!
